Grant Handgis ~ Author/Poet

from “Living On Dreams”

Mazatlan, Sunset

I had never really thought

about it before

pondered it, to follow the

mental scent of the trail

and see where it may lead

There were just the experiences

of shared ventures

She was so soft, this woman

melting in my thoughts

and flowing along like

an ancient friend

rediscovering

the future as it unfolds

before our words, and

dances at the edge of

the world we are creating, and

it is exciting to me to

sit here two thousand

miles away, with her fixed

firmly in my mind, smiling

that smile

and

dancing on a beach

in Mazatlan

Copyright 1998-2011

I wrote this after making my way from Gus Gus’ to my room, some hundred steps up the street. My time at my little sidewalk table watching the scene before me was a double whammy. The magical shift of perspective was still evident and very potent. As potent, and out of nowhere, arrived the first emotional wave of love, and the words began to flow like water.
